Mission Statement

The mission of Berklee Valencia is to prepare students to be artistic creators and leaders of the global music community.

Berklee Valencia is dedicated to innovation and opportunity, and is committed to being an internationally recognized leader in contemporary music education. Through its distinctive music and business programs, Berklee Valencia educates individuals to be leaders of the global music community. In an environment of creative thinking, diverse musical perspectives, entrepreneurial spirit, and social responsibility, musicians and artistic creators of different cultures and experiences learn to define the musical opportunities of the future.

Berklee Valencia Objectives

Guided by the mission, vision, and educational philosophy of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, the objectives of Berklee Valencia are:

• Providing innovative undergraduate and graduate music programs and curricula that foster creativity, intellectual curiosity, risk-taking, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Generating opportunities for musicians and creators to engage in deep investigation, innovation, and mastery of making music for emerging media.
• Pursuing development of advances in music technology, immersive audio, digital media, and music cognition.
• Providing music and business professionals with forums to discuss and create music business models that can be applied to the artistic, management, and entrepreneurial challenges of music and digital media.
• Embracing the vibrant symphonic band movement of the Valencia region and its potential to provide a rich educational experience for musicians and creators.
• Studying the diverse musical traditions of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East that have come together in and around Valencia.
• Collaborating with the Sociedad General de Autores y Editores in producing special clinics, seminars, concerts, and other events that will enhance the experiences of students and contribute to the artistic culture of communities in Spain.
• Supporting and encouraging an environment that encompasses diversity of individuals, cultures, styles, and ideas, all of which are fundamental to a full and rich experience.
• Providing enrolled students of Berklee College of Music in Boston with the study-abroad opportunity in Valencia that will enrich their knowledge and experience.
• Motivating students to think globally and apply the powerful force of music to help enrich and shape the world in which we live.
• Offering special programs in music production, technology, business, and other areas that help advance the knowledge, skills, and experiences of students and professionals.
• Striving to contribute to the broader economic, social, and cultural wellbeing of Valencia and Spain.
