Polo Ortí's reunion with Gary Burton and Antonio Sánchez was set in Valencia in October 2008, when the three musicians performed with Victor Merlo on Berklee Valencia's First Stone event. It was then that Ortí proposed to Burton to work together again sometime. A few months later, Burton formed this quintet.
