The Partnership

Berklee College of Music and Socieded General de Autores y Editores (SGAE) have a lot in common. Each serves the creative community, believes in innovation, opportunity, and artistic freedom, and is committed to giving young artistic creators the skills and support they need to become leaders. Berklee accomplishes this through its many educational programs in Boston, and SGAE through its management and protection of the rights of the creative community.

Berklee welcomed SGAE’s invitation to participate in ARTeria Valencia, a project that is bringing many musical and cultural elements together – the deep musical traditions of Spain and the Mediterranean region, thousands of Berklee alumni working throughout Europe, and the opportunity to create a new kind of contemporary music education in the vibrant and beautiful city of Valencia. And working in partnership, Berklee and SGAE will bring Berklee Valencia to life as a school that prepares students to meet the challenges of the global music industry and empowers them to lead the industry into the future.
