ARTeria Network

ARTeria Valencia, the cultural complex that will be hosting Berklee Valencia, is a key component in the ARTeria Multiespacios project, the network of multi-purpose spaces under development by the SGAE.

The other “nodes,” or headquarters, of the network in Spain are in Santiago de Compostela, Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Boadilla del Monte, Sevilla, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. There are also ARTeria centers in Mexico D.F., Mexico and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Of these venues, the following are currently fully operative: CATA – Center for Applied High Technology (Centro de Alta Tecnología Aplicada) in Madrid; the Metropolitan Theatre in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and ARTeria Noroeste in Santiago de Compostela. October 2008 will see the inauguration of La Casona, a building that is being restored in the historic quarter of Mexico D.F.

Three new Multiespacios venues are due to be inaugurated by 2009: the Paral-lel in Barcelona, the Campos Elíseos theatre in Bilbao, and the Berlanga Hall in Madrid. The first two will have classrooms, recording studios, and halls for various artistic activities, as well as catering facilities. The Berlanga Hall has been conceived as a venue for the audiovisual arts.

The construction of the ARTeria Valencia Cultural Complex is expected to be completed during the year 2012 in Valencia. Also in that year, the ARTeria Cartuja will be inaugurated in Sevilla along with a new Multiespacio venue in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which will complement the activities of the Metropolitan Theatre. The focus of the ARTeria Valencia venue will be training, although this center will also host other activities. The Multiespacio in Sevilla will include several facilities for leisure and culture. The Multiespacio venue in Buenos Aires will house offices, classrooms, and a space devoted to the audiovisual arts.

The restoration and extension of the Infante Don Luis Palace in Boadilla del Monte is expected to be concluded between 2010 and 2011. It will serve as the headquarters for various cultural institutions and house areas for training, catering, and exhibitions.
